i was so curious how
come
the name is kuningan,
not merahan, or unguan,
or biruan? according to
my balinese friend, the gods come to earth on galungan day to
give some blesses.
after 10 days, they leave.
and this farewell day calls kuningan because one of the must
offering is nasi
kuning.
they also decorate the shrines with yellow clothes.

meetings
are boring...
we usually act
like kindergarten
kids
during the meeting
like the guy who sit next to me, sms
me
*gubrak*
or we kick
each other's
footwear under
the table,
so at the end of meeting, we have to find our shoes or sandals
on the other side of the room.
or we make
fun 
of someone who's talking.
and everything we'll be stop
for a moment
when my boss starts shouting, "alaya, i'm trying to explain
the project." 
(note: this is only happen in internal
staff meetings,
we behave much better when meeting with clients or other people)
last
friday
we had another staff meeting.
there was this one guy who looove
to talk
during the meeting.
if it is allowed, i was sure he would talk forever, explained
all the details we didn't want to hear and we didn't need
to hear . he
just wanted
to look smart
in front of us.
it was already past
6 o'clock
(our office hour ends at 5.30) and he was still talking. i
wanted to see sunset which is usually at 6.30, so i couldn't
stand it anymore.
me: can we end the meeting?
i want to see the sunset .
the guy who kept talking: you can see the sunset
from the window of the meeting room
me: no, i want the sunset
by the beach
the others were bored too ,
so we end
the meeting.
the reason i wrote this, my dear blog reader, because i need
to make this guy unconscious,
or killed, or dissapeared
 for the next
meetings. but i still don't have plan how to do that. i need
some ideas  . if
something pop up from your head, please write it down here.

so
it's galungan
today!!
i bet most of you who don't live on this island don't know that
galungan is celebrated twice
a year,
every six months according to balinese calendar.
galungan day is the symbol of the dharma
(the good) victory against adharma
(the bad). it's always celebrated on wednesday.
and because to celebrate it the people need to make some offerings
and usually visit their original temple
 back in their village,
it becomes 3 days holiday from tuesday until thursday. hasilnya
hari senin sama jumat-nya kan kejepit, jadinya yah tanggung
libur seminggu aja. bali = banyak
libur. tapi coba cek di
kalender deh. galungan tuh sama sekali bukan
tanggal merah.
agama hindu cuma dapet libur sekali setahun yaitu pas hari raya
nyepi.
tapi gue gak
libur
. karena emang gue
kan gak ngerayain galungan. this pile things-to-do makes me
stick on my desk, in front of my computer. eventhough there's
still a bit good news :
because of galungan, the client agreed to postponed the deadline
which was supposed to be at the end of this
week until at the end of next
week! yay!
