when
i tried to watch fanfan
la tulipe, i just realized the movie was
in
french
but it didn't
have any english subtitle

the indonesian subtitle only showed up once a while
and i only had 2 other choices: french
or chinese
subtitle. since i think 
i used to learned a few years of french but had
no knowledge of chinese at all, i tried desperatedly
the french one. but it turned out that the french
wasn't

tuesday...
pagi2, ngisi bensin. seluruh staff pom bensin-nya pake
baju adat! 
gue: ada apa hari ini, pak?

uluwatu malemnya, nemenin dia sembahyang
walaupun gue ikutan cuman buat lucu2an, gue ikutan
pake
kebaya+kain
dong...
pura uluwatu is a bit far, located far south of
bali on the cliff. so imagine
,
people praying in a temple on a cliff by the
full moon, with the air smelled of incenses, and
listening the sound of the waves hitting the beach

first task, we had to climb some steps to get into the
temple. yeah, i know, climbing steps are simple normal
thing, but not in kebaya+kain  !
then people got in a room (without roof) where there were
a priest and his assistant. people gave some offerings,
sat on the stone floor, burned some incenses
(dupa), took some petals  ,
then pray .
and yes, sitting on the floor wearing kain was not easy
either. the assistant of the priest walked around, sprinkled
people with holy water and gave some rice
grains to be sticked on the forehead.
i thought it would be a little sprinkle of water, but
not, he poured quite a lot of water, so it was like a
really really short shower. my advice, don't 
blow dry your hair before praying in pura, the water will
ruin your hair anyway.
after that, we went to another room to do same kind of
praying before
drove home
with some rice grains sticking on our forehead .

sih cuman bule yg kalap beli dvd? kenapa turis asia ga
ikutan kalap? selling dvd is a big
bussiness
 now in kuta.
i like both of the movies. but big
fish was better!!

the witch, the big fish, the circus, the chinese twin,
etc.

don't get along, so i just have to take that horrible

last
thursday, we were invited to a melaspas,
a balinese ceremony
after a building
is built. it was somewhere in petitenget near la luciola
where there were about 4 villas to be blessed.

another japanese girl
in a school full of japaneses.
i met her in english
as a second language
class then we found out that we had many classes together.
she taught me how to make cookies
and some japanese words. like most japaneses, she did
everything slow
and perfect
and i did everything fast
and messy .
we were so different. but we spent a lot of times together,
mostly trip with school like chemistry class trip to technische
museum in munich,
history class trip to a consentration
camp in mauthausen,
school retreat to zell
am see, or visiting galeries with art
club.
too bad she
moved back to japan when we had trip to turkey | | |
