you know that i love garfield so much, but the comic ones. when i heard they made the movie of it, i wasn't interested until last saturday nite, a friend forced me to watch it.

it wasn't that bad *the
comic is still better of course!*. jon wasn't a loser there. he's even dating liz the vet (jennifer love hewitt). but the star of the movie is *drumroll*

oddie!! how could they found a stupid-cute-innocent dog to play as oddie? i would love to have a dog like that.

a friend and i visited an unfinished villa on a small remote village in ubud last saturday. in the past, there was something between me and the villa, so i was a bit curious to see how is it looks like.

from ubud main road, we entered a small road that a couple years ago had holes everywhere. but now, it's a smooth, new road . we drove pass a village, a big temple, down to a valley, passed a brigde, uphill, passed some villas, met some hiking tourists, found some painting shops along the road *who want to buy painting in this remote area?? *, drove between some ricefields, entered a narrower road, and finally we parked the car and reached the site of the villa!

we continue the journey by
walking on a timber bridge to get into the gate of the villa. in the future, paddys will be planted on the land by the left and right sides of the bridge. so the people who walked on the brodge will be looked like floating on the ricefiled.

the villa is situated
on a cliff and surrounded by forest. bali is in its hottest season now, but there, it was so cool because of the breeze and the trees of the forest roofing us. and it is so peaceful, you can hear the voice from the nature: the sound of the river far below the cliff and bird's singing. the only inconvinient thing is mosquitoes kept biting us .

the style of the building is just ok , i'm
not too crazy about it. but since it stands on a cliff, it has about 10 levels!!

2
movies from last week.
*gue sekarang
makin males gini nulis2 film.*

i've been looking for this movie since a long time ago. begitu lamanya sampe gue lupa kenapa gue nyari film ini . ceritanya tentang kehidupan christy brown, yg dari lahir seluruh tubuhnya cacat kecuali kaki kirinya . he was from a poor family in ireland, but he's smart and talented, so
he can paint and write using his left foot.

another audrey tautou's movie. this time she played as turkish immigrant in london and didn't speak french at all in the movie. the movie showed how hard the life of the illegal immigrants from all over the world in london, but they helped each other . for complete review, please visit, slesta's movie 411.

it's just a restaurant like other restaurants in indonesia. the only different is the location: in kuta, not far away from where i live.
last weekend, i went there with some friends.

"let's site over there", i said, pointing finger at a table in the corner. "it's my favorite place."

it was only a few minutes before the fast breaking and the restaurant was almost empty. in jakarta, it's must be almost impossible to find a table during this kind of time. but this is bali, fasting people are minority.

i looked around.
on the table over there, i saw
four australians tourists, one of them wearing a spiderman costum.
on the table next to me, there is a young japanese couple with
a sleeping baby.
on the table in front of me,
a group of jakarta people, each with their latest nokia.

"the jakarta people are so strange. they go all the way to bali but end up eating in a restaurant that you can find anywhere in jakarta", i said.
"yupe. it's pathetic," my friend said.

suddenly i just realized. i've been in this place very often, but each time with different people, different occasion.
me on a friend's birthday, on the same favorite table in the corner.
me and some friends on a farewell party, on the long table near the window.
me and my ex-boyfriend, he ate most of the food.
me and my other ex-boyfriend, on the table near the entrance, we couldn't finish the food.
me and a friend, after she got her first salary.
me and my japanese friends, on the table near the painting.
me and my parents, on their rare visit to bali.
me and my sister, cooling down after a long shopping day.
me and some friends, after a sun burn day in nusa dua.
and list goes on.

"i think it's about the time," my friend said.
18.15 wita.
"let's eat," i said.
this is bali. no adzan, no one reminded us about the time. we just guessed.

i was digging in a second hand bookshop two weeks ago when i found the piano tuner, a book from my wish list. yay!

i just wondered how the author did came out with
the idea about a piano tuner travelling to remote place in burma in 19th century when burma was still an english's colony. the job was offered by the war office to tune an erard

piano owned by an eccentric major-surgeon anthony carrol.

what came into my mind was: why did so
huge effort to bring a piano to that far away place? (it's in the story how terrible to deliver a piano there, a man had to die because of snake's bite on the way to get there when he was carrying the piano) just live without it! *like me now. hehehe.... *

but
the piano tuner said: "the thought of living for eight years in the jungle without bach's music is horrid to me."
yeah, you're right, man! bach rules!

the place reminds me a lot of keluarga cemara.
during his journey into the remote place, the
shan state, edgar drake, the piano tuner stayed in mandalay for a couple of days.

salah satu hal yg menyenangkan dari tinggal di kuta adalah: kadang2 suka mati lampu pada saat jam kerja.
hari rabu kemarin, sekitar jam 10 pagi, tiba2 *bleb* mati lampu!
ga bisa kerja dong...
daripada ga ngapa2in & kepanasan krn ac ga jalan, akhirnya kita memutuskan utk mengunjungi hotel conrad, sebuah hotel yg
baru dibuka tahun ini di kawasan benoa & sedang menjadi perbincangan org2. pertanyaan spt: have you been in conrad? udah sering banget terdengar.
hotel ini juga pernah dibahas di blog ini.

begitu sampe disana, ternyata bangunannya
biasa aja *kecewa*. another typical of bali ritz-carlton and bali intercontinental. yg mengesankan adalah interior spa, lobi, & materialnya. and they have a huge swimming pool, i mean HUGE!! walaupun kita waktu di jalan udah berjanji akan behave, begitu sampe sana tetep aja keluar jeritan2 kecil yg norak: "iiih bagus banget."

we
weren't prepare, so my camera was in low battery condition. i only captured a fews shots before it really passed away.
i think i have to
retire my old camera & desperately need to buy a new one *donation, please *.

some pictures of the hotel, some of them were taken by my friend.
